Living a creative life has been as important to me as breathing in an out for as
long as I can remember. And it seems that some of my earlier efforts of drawing, painting and glass work has translated directly into my clay. Although many arts intrigue me and challenge me, clay is the true passion. Being a life student of clay offers me a life of learning and growing. Work continues to morph as the years go by. I have worked in clay since 1991 and have taught for almost 10 years, and have noticed that my work tends to be lead by nature, but color seems to be of the utmost importance. I love to explore all the ranges of clay for myself as well as with my students. The potters wheel is my first love and still is the main infancies of my work. However as the years go by I find that hand building and sculpting are just as intriguing, and many times work in conjunction with my thrown forms. Being instructed by some of the best artists of our times my work continues to be charged with new influences. But nothing more so than the world around me. Living in a large city with my husband, two dogs and a cat, we created an oasis of nature on our acre of land. With a pond and gardens and all the wildlife that comes with it, I am always amazed how much of what I see or hear in my oasis finds it's way into my work. This organic process of following a path in my art intrigues me and makes me excited about what is in my future with my art.
